Jim and Bassie

1995

Jim Tavare marries his double bass, affectionately named Bassie, and so the fun begins. The double bass has an affair with an agent, becomes pregnant, and finally gives birth to a miniature violin. For the sets I used the design ethic of the wonderful Orson Wells adaptation of Kafka's The Trial, with low, oddly proportioned rooms. Al Murray, before his Pub Landlord days, also starred.
